Record of events:
After a night of continuous shelling in the 1st Bn of 331 Inf jumped off in a new attack and elements of it are reported in sight of the Rhine near Neuss. This makes them the first American troops to reach the Rhine River. Early this morning Pfc Burger drove his amb between three American and one German tanks that were fighting for control of a vital crossroad. American dive bombers have given magnificient support to 331 Inf today. Weather: Excellent. Morale: Extremely high.
