Record of events: Co C attacked point in this Sector at 1800 supported by tanks. Object taken but due to shortage of ammunition was forced to withdraw, upon arrival of ammunition, again drove the enemy back and dug in for night. At 0900 this date attacked again and started and at 1500 Co C withdrew as Bn reserve while A & B Companies held. This was up to 1800. Casualties - [...] 14 EM missing, beleived to be with Co L on right on 4 Jul 44 after 1800.
