Morning report B/331 for April 28, 1945

Record of events: Co held the same positions. At 1300 a patrol of 8 men was noticed approaching our lines. Our men were alerted and we some mortar fire thrown at the point. About 1330 a column of enemy soldiers was noticed coming to our lines. They were captured by the Co at 1340, and when a final count was completed 229 prisoners and 8 women in uniform were accounted for. The Lord Mayor of Zerbst came through our lines trying to arrange the surrender of the town. He was taken to see the General concerning terms. Weather, rainy, but men have good foxholes. Morale, high after mass capture. At 1520, 8 more prisoners were taken.
