Record of events:
Weather - damp, foggy and chilly. Co. holding place on Hill 5. Ten casualties from a shoe mine field yesterday. Activity light for day and night in our area. Intermittant shelling but no casualties. Some evidence of fighting on our distant right flank. Jerry threw a few flares during the night. We were on the alert defensive, for possible counter-attack, having new defensive areas prepared and manned.
