Record of events: Direct hit on one OP of 2nd Pltn in Schneidhauser caused 7 casualties. Jerry was shelling constantly from their positions across the river and from the direction of Duren. We carried out casualties and carried in rations etc. under cover of darkness. Jerry fired at our aid men and riflemen as t hey came out with the most serious wounded casualties. Fortunately none were hit however a stretcher was hit just after the wounded man was carried away from it. Shell- of Kufferath rather dispersed, but constant and searching. We reported 'Shell Reps'of 3 guns during night giving oz. from two points plus time of shell flight. Still serving 2 hot meals to all of Co plus attachments, except for reinforced 2nd Pltn. We supply them at night, with simple rations.
