Morning report B/331 for April 15, 1945

Record of events: 14 Apr 45 The Co at 0400 crossed the Elbe River on a pontoon bridge. At 0930 the Co jumped off and cleared the towns of Lockheim and Badetz. Orders were received to take the stronghold town of Kameritz, and the Co jumped off again at 1845. One platoon entered the outskirts of the town and met heavy small arms fire from several strongpoints within the town. At 2030 the Co withdrew to defensive positions in the woods 900 yards SE of the town. Casualties 2 KIA, 5 wounded, 5 Prisoners taken. 15 Apr 45 At 1130 the Co moved through Badetz and into a woods SE of the town. The woods was cleared and 2 prisoners taken. Co again set up defensive positions.
