Morning report C/331 for December 26, 1944

Station: Aachen, Germany, vK8641
Record of events: On 25 Dec 44 we were relieved by Cavalry attached to the 8th Div. Moved our unit out of Kufferath in afternoon. Several pltns erected Xmas trees, with quite an assortiment of ornaments and candles. The Xmas spirit prevailed today. Officially relieved at 1900 last night by C Troop, 113 Cavalry. Relief effected without casualties under enemy aerial and flare activity. Entrucked at Horm and moved by company to the suburbs of Aachen, arriving 0100. Troops billeted in apartment houses which, though sparsely furnished, were better than being out in the cold. Had excellent hot chown this morning and began to clean up ourselves, weapons, equipment and the billet. Bathtubs were eyed, but our hopes of taking a bath was very soon discouraged by the order to move. We are now in the 9th Army.
