Morning report C/331 for May 2, 1945

Station: Badetz, Germany, rD9279
Record of events: On 22 Apr 45, the Co. received notice that Capt. PATRICK F. MURPHY who was wounded 14 Apr 45, had died of wounds. By noon we had moved into Co "B" positions to the east of Badetz. The afternoon was spent in improving foxholes. A Co. was set up. Several rounds of enemy 105 artillery came in on company; several patrols were spoted by our outpost that evening, but mortar and rifle fire drove them off. On 23 Apr 45, positions and camouflage were improved; communication trenches were begun. Men were sent to USO show, but were recalled on threat of German Patrol activity, in front of the unit to our right. On 24 Apr 45 work on communication trenches continued. Men were sent to take showers today. On 25 Apr 45, 36 reinf and 3 returnees came to company. See 1945-05-04 for (more) information.
