Morning report E/331 for December 13, 1944

Record of events:
(10 Dec 1944) Company preparing for attack the town of Gey. Company moved up to the LD at 0545. Moved out on time 0630. Company met heavy mortar barrage. Casualties were heavy. Moved into the outskirts of Gey at 0900. Security was posted and defense was setup to repel and counter-attack. Snipers were very active. Germans killed (7), Germans wounded (3), Germans captured (10). (11 Dec 44) Morning exchange of small arms fire. Company tried to attack and capture Gey. Smoke was laid but was very poor. Company moved 100 yards but were stopped by heavy machine-gun and small arms fire. Company held what they had for the night. (12 Dec 44) 0400 Company was relieved and moved out of Gey to positions manned before attack. Enemy shelled our position. (13 Dec 44) Company in vicinity of Gey. Company receiving heavy shelling. Cases of trench foot increased daily.
