Record of events: As of 31 Mar 45 closed out overnight CP at Haltern, Germany at 1300 and moved via motor to New CP at Olfen, Germany a distance of 7 miles. As of 1 Apr 45 closed out old CP at Olfen, Germany at 0300, crossed IP at 0315. Moved via motor a distance of 10 miles. Cold, windy and rainy. Halted in temporary assembly area in vicinity of Ahein, Germany. At 0700 Co E jumped off at 0745 followed by Co F. Co G remained in assembly area until 1200 and then moved forward. Bn CP moved a few hundred yds to New CP location listed above at 1145 awaiting further developments. Bn's mission is to cut the main highway East and West into medium sized town of Hamm, Germany that the 2nd Armored by passed. Resistance light and confined to small arms and automatic weapons fire. No artillery or Mortar fire. Casualties to 1300, 1 DOW and 1 SWA for Co E. 40 prisoners taken by Co E up to 1300. Weather remains Cold and overcast with intermittent rain squalls. Morale Excellent. As of 2 Apr Bn holding ground taken 1 Apr 45. Outposting and awaiting further developments. Forward CP located a goodly distance ahead of rear CP which is preparing to move forward. Weather very windy and Cool. Morale Excellent.
