Record of events: 22 June 44: Bn (less Btry C, Serv Btry and Hq, Btry B aboard USS LST 516) waiting debarkation. LST 317 made an attempted beaching at 1515, due to low tide and sand bar beaching was made in water too deep to permit debarking. Btry, Serv Btry and Hq, Btry B aboard LST 516 accomplished beaching at 1434. Debarked at 1720 and proceeded to Conc Area D, arriving at 1843, departed Conc Area D for bivouac 1 mile North of Bricqueville, France at 2000, arrived and established bivouac at 2100, local security established. Weather: Fair and warm. Morale: Excellent. Distance traveled 18 miles.
