Record of events: Bn in direct support of 331st Inf. Patrols of 1st Bn, 331st Inf penetrated into village of Wormeldange, were forced to withdraw under intense enemy small arms fire. Considerable mortar and high velocity shells were fired by enemy in our southern sector in vicinity of Basse Kontz during night of 5-6 Oct. Preparation for attack on Wormeldange complete, awaiting air bombing attack to launch general attack at time of closing report. Weather: Clear and cool. Health of Command: Good. Morale: Excellent.
