Rood, 31212769, Btry C 908th FA Bn awarded purple heart under prov of Cir 62, Hq ETOUSA, dtd 44, by Bn Surg for wounds received in action 9 Dec 44 in Germany. Ground fast becoming a quagmire. Positions of Btry A and C rec'd enemy harassing fires at 0130 to 0300 of 15cm caliber. Weather: Rainy and snow. Cold. Health of Comd: Good. Shelters being constructed of logs to keep troops dry.
