Bn reinforcing fires of 898th FA Bn in direct support of 290th Inf, 75th Inf Div. The 290th CT atchd to 83d Inf Div in VII Corps, I Army Sector. Bn firing on enemy troops & installations throughout period. Harassing fires during night of 31 Dec 44 & 1 Jan 45. Enemy harassing fire in Btry B area at 0030 to 0039 - 5 rds 150cm, damaging 2 motor vehicles slightly. No injury to personnel, Btry B displaced at 0945 to new position 1 mi NE of Soy, Belgium arriving at 1000 hours & went into immediate firing positions. Distance traveled 1 mile. Roads good hard surfaced, slippery with ice and snow. Weather: Partly cloudy and cold. Morale: Excellent. Health of Command: Good. Daily inspection of feet for trench foot - no disease found. Casualties: None.
