Station: 4/10 mile north-east of Hébronval, Belgium1, vP6386
Record of events:
Bn in direct support of 331st Inf in VII Corps, I Army, XXI Army Group Sector., in attack to clear Bois de Ronce permitting the 3rd Armor Div to continue attack to the south. Unidentified enemy plane over area fr approximately 2050 to 2140 hours. Enemy arty fire fell in outer edge of Btry C position area fr 2300 to 2350 hours. No casualties. Weather: Partly cloudy - cold. Morale: Excellent. Health of Command: Good. Daily inspection of feet disclosed no trench foot in command. One case of severe frostbite of feet by member of Hq Btry Ln Section. Casualties: Sgt Clarence H. Gardner, Hq Btry 13126022, LIA, frost bite severe both feet. Awarded Purple Hear under prov of Cir 62, Hq ETOUSA dtd 1944.
